Dhamari,
as the name implies, is related to Dhamara tala of fourteen beats. Essentially, dhamari
takes the final three matras of dhamara
and compresses it to one and half beats. The only difference is that the final bol is ka, rather than dha.
Because of the flow of dhamara (fourteen beats), it
is considered to be a misra jati
tala.
