TRANSLATION

1) This arati removes all material suffering, and mitigates all pain of coming (birth) and death. All glories to the arati of Sri Madana Gopala (Krsna, the Cupid-cowherdboy)!

2) A camphor-wick with clarified butter is burning on a golden plate (and is offered to Krsna during the ceremony). The face of Nanda’s son Krsna is more beautiful and splendid than millions of moons and suns.

3) His anklebells jingle on His lotus feet. And on His chest swings a garland of forest flowers.

4) Krsna wears a beautiful crown of peacock feathers and a yellow dhoti. And He plays a delicious flute-song. All glories to the arati of Sri Madana Gopala.

5) How beautifully His earrings dangle on His glossy cheeks! So we behold Madana Gopala.

6) The demigods, human beings and the sages perform the Aroti-ceremony. To the protector and benefactor of the devotees (Krsna).

7) The hand-cymbals and drums are playing, and handfuls of flowers and colored powder are thrown at Krsna.

8) Out of love, Raghunatha Das Goswami cries out ‘hu hu!’ O enchanting boy of Gokula!

9) Glories to Madana Gopala, the son of Yasoda!

10) All glories to the arati of Sri Madana Gopala! Glories to the son of Yasoda and Nanda! Glories to the son of Nanda, the lifter of Govardhana Hill!

11) All glories to Giridhari, Govinda, Gopala! Glory to Govinda Gopala (Krsna) and Gaura Gopala (Lord Caitanya, the golden cowherd)

12) Glory to Gaura Gopala, the son of Mother Saci! Glory to the son of Mother Saci and the merciful Nitai (Lord Nityananda).

13) Glory to the merciful Nitai, Sita (the consort of Advaita Acarya) and Advaita Acarya. Glory to the merciful Advaita Prabhu and the merciful Gadadhara Pandit. Glory to the merciful Gadadhara Pandit, Srivasa Pandit and all the other devotees of Lord Caitanya!
