ghuṭuruni calata renu tana maṇḍita mukha dadhi lepa kie

cāru kapola lola locana gorocana tilaka die

laṭa laṭakani manu matta madhupa gana mādaka madhuhiń pie

kaṭhulā kaṇṭha vajra kehari nakha rājata rucira hie

dhanya sūra ekau pal ihiń sukh kā sata kalpa jie

TRANSLATION

1) How splendorous is He, as He has butter in His hands. He is teeter-tottering while crawling and His body is covered in dust. His face is covered with butter.

2) His cheeks are beautifully radiant and His face is adorned with tilaka made of cattle stone. His hair is very curly and it sways to and fro His face, just like swarms of honeybees are strongly attracted to the waterfalls of honey.

3) On His necklace has a diamond and a tiger-claw charm which adorns His chest. Sura Dasa is very blessed upon envisioning this one moment, for the happiness from seeing this lasts for one hundred cosmic aeons!

This song is featured in one of the early episodes of Ramanand Sagar’s Shri Krishna (1994) serial, sung by Suresh Wadkar and music was by Ravindra Jain.
