kāma pāvaka tūlamaya tana biraha svāsa samīra

TRANSLATION

Refrain: Uddhava, go quickly to Braja!

 

1) Give my dear ones the message of my loving memory, and end their burning pain. Their bodies are a lamp-wick lit with passion’s fire, their lovelorn sighs inflame it like a wind.

 

2) Only the tears that fall from their eyes save them from burning to ashes. When they have no remedy for their state, how can these women be steadfast?

 

3) I do not need to explain anything to you, my wise and good friend. Sura Dasa says, “Think well on this. Can a fish live without water?”
