Krsna Jinaka Nama Hai is a very well liked Hindi bhajan that became relatively popular to devotees from the mid-1970s in the movement. It prays to Lord Krsna in His different roles from the son of Mother Yasoda and Nanda Maharaja to the one who was the merciful Lord who became Arjuna’s charioteer and gave him the instructions of the Bhagavad-Gita. This song has many tunes associated with it. (I have heard at least five tunes for this song.) The one posted here is the tune that Bhakti Caru Swami sang in his Krsna Bhavanamrta recordings. The raga is in Tilaka Kamod in kaherva tala.

 

NOTE: In addition, there is a kirtan/dhun that follows the bhajan. However, from the five renditions I have heard of this song, I haven’t found this dhun or kirtan sung. Therefore, I haven’t posted that. Once I found the tune, I’ll post the musical notation here. – KD
