Yasomati Nandana

Lyrics: Yasomati Nandana

Author: Bhaktivinoda Thakura

Book Name: Gitavali

Language: Bengali

Raga: Des

To greet Deities, this Bhaktivinoda Thakura song is sung. In a very ecstatic mood, this song sings of the names and glories of the Lord. Hence, this song is known as the Nama Kirtana. The happy mood of this song is shown through Raga Des and the dadra tala. Many devotees would prefer to sing this in eight matras, but the original format and essence of this song is truly in six matra dadra tala.
