Jhulana Yatra

The summer festival of swinging the Divine Couple is called the “Jhulana Yatra.” The Jhulana Yatra starts on the eleventh day of the second half of Sravana (Sridhara). The Jhulana Yatra ends on the start of Bhadra (Hrsikesa) on the festival of Sri Balarama Jayanti. The four day long event is celebrated by devotees pulling a rope which allows the swing with the Deities seated to move.
