Radhastami

According to the Gaudiya Vaisnavas, the celebrated event that is higher than Janmastami is Radhastami. Radhastami is the earthly appearance date of Srimati Radharani, the Lords eternal consort. Many acaryas consider Her the Supreme Goddess, for She has potency to even control Krsna, the Supreme Lord! Devotees seek shelter of Her lotus feet in order to obtain Her favor in having a chance to perform pure devotional service and become a devotee of Sri Krsna. Radhastami falls on the eighth day of the second half of Bhadra (Hrsikesa). Devotees perform fasts until noon, while they spend their day reading Her glories and praying for Her mercy.
