WORD FOR WORD TRANSLATION: Jaya Govinda Jaya Gopala Kesava Madhava
(Refrain) O pleaser of the cows! O protector of cows! O bearer of the finest hair! O husband of the goddess of fortune! You are very merciful to the fallen souls!
1) You are the beautiful dark-complexioned Syama, and the darling Kanhaiya. You are the lifter of Govardhana Hill and the son of Nanda Maharaja!
2) You are the Infalliable One, bearer of finest hair, the One who bears Laksmi-Devi, the husband of the Goddess of Fortune, Gopala, Govinda, Hari! In the banks of the Yamuna, You play the flute, and bear the form of a Great Dancer.
This chant was featured in Vaiyasaki prabhu’s 1998 album “Hari Nam Ananda.” It was rendered in Raga Bhairavi in Kaherva Tala.
