Upadasi tala is a ten and half matra tabla tala that is quite rare. Unlike most talas that contain fractional matras, this has uses the most of fractional matras which makes this even more difficult to play. Some musicians may even prefer to consider each half matra as a whole matra, thus making it a twenty-one matra tala, and an easier one to examine.
